Catlyn’s love for the racing industry began at a very young age on the backside of Delaware Park, where her grandfather and mother trained horses together. In high school she earned extra money by working for hall of fame trainer Jonathan Sheppard before going onto gallop for notable trainers such as Michael Matz, Patrick Biancone, Charlie Lopresti, and Graham Motion. She earned an assistant trainer’s license in 2010 and has since had the opportunity to work around multiple graded stakes winners, Animal Kingdom, Pluck, Wise Dan, Successful Dan, Ring Weekend, Kitten’s Point, Aruna, Nechita and many more.

In between working for top North American horseman Catlyn also gained experience in France with trainer Francois Rohaut and in Australia with Patinack Farm.

Catlyn received a degree in Biology from Cecil College in Northeast, Md in 2013, and has also been published in important publications like the Thoroughbred Daily News and the Saratoga Special.
